Also, on a personal note, Dan is exceptionally proud of the men and women that have enabled KMI to grow into such a successful company over the generations.

Dan says, “KMI is a fourth-generation union contractor that is proud to provide good paying jobs with health insurance and pension. Over the years, we have trained many apprentices that have stayed and worked for KMI for many years. We are grateful to all our long-term customers as well as our new clients.”

Vice President

Denise Clark

  • Denise Clark has over 40 years of experience with Kwiatkowski Masonry and her family has been involved with much of the company’s history. Her grandfather started the business in 1946 out of a large garage that was located on his property. After his tenure, Denise’s father continued to run the company out of their home during the 1970s.

Kwiatkowski Masonry is truly a family business. Denise remembers moments where her father and the company’s customers would be going over blueprints for masonry plans at the family’s dinner table. Her first dog was actually given to her by a customer that came to their home one day to review some project plans. The family has grown close with many of their clients, suppliers, and partners over the years.

As Denise grew up, so too did the company. She first started working for Kwiatkowski Masonry while she was in high school, helping her father with many of the organizational tasks of running the company.

After high school, Denise spent a few years working outside of Kwiatkowski Masonry to gain experience in other industries. She worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), a company that specializes in automotive financing, from about 1978 to 1983. After working for GMAC, Denise returned to Kwiatkowski Masonry and has been working there ever since.

Project Manager

Matt Kwiatkowski

  • Matt Kwiatkowski is a Project Manager with Kwiatkowski Masonry since 2018 when he returned back to the company from California. Prior to this, he spent 8 years in the United States Marine Corps and 5 years in the San Diego Police Department.

Matt first started with Kwiatkowski Masonry at the age of 6 painting angle irons on the weekends. As time progressed and he got older he eventually worked as a Shop Yardman in High School. After graduating from High School, he became a laborer with Local 81 until the day he left for the Marine Corps in 2005.

Matt is currently serving as Vice President of the Northwest Indiana Mason Contractor’s Association and is a board member of the Indiana Mason Contractor’s Association. Additionally, he has been appointed to the Board of the Indiana and Kentucky Structural Masonry Coalition.

Matt attended Valparaiso High School and graduated in 2002. In 2015, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering Technology from National University. Matt has a wife, 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls) and currently resides in Valparaiso.

In his off time, he enjoys Mountain Biking and going camping in the family RV. Once a year, he packs up the family for one long road trip. To date, the best destination has been Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. Fun fact is Matt is a licensed Scuba Divemaster with over 150 dives.

  • Jim has been employed with Kwiatkowski Masonry steadily since 1997 but had started with the company just out of high school as a laborer in 1985.

After graduating from Lake Central High School, and while working full-time during summer months and part-time during college, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Indiana University Northwest in 1990. After passing three of the actuarial exams, and enduring a short stint in insurance sales, he realized the corporate world and a suit and tie was “not in the cards”. He returned to laboring full-time for a short while until KMI invited him to work in the office.

Jim is married and has two sons.
